Contrary to the claims of the ignorant.  Orthodox Christianity does not treat women as second class nor do they worship the Virgin Mary.  The Theotokos (Mother of God)  is respected as first among the Saints and as Christ is the typos for the New Adam (What man was created to be) The Theotokos is the typos for the New Eve.  Just as death and corruption was brought into the world be Eve's disobiedance.  Salvation was brought into the world by the Theotoko's humility and total trust in God.
